Coatue’s 2023 EMW Conference

We’ve just wrapped up another successful East Meets West (EMW), our annual conference that connects tech leaders and visionaries from across the globe for two full days of networking and future-forward discussions.

We launched the first EMW in 2015 based on a deep conviction that innovation in technology benefits from connections that cut across geographies, cultures, and company lifecycles. We’ve stayed true to that mantra in the years since, focusing on curating an event that bridges those gaps across the technology landscape for founders, CEOs, and peers in the investment community. This was our most ambitious EMW yet with more than 180 attendees. 

Our annual “Coatue View on the State of the Markets” presentation focused squarely on the macroeconomic landscape as it relates to both the public and private markets. We’re excited to share with you the materials from the presentation below:

We were thrilled to have Netflix Founder and Executive Chairman Reed Hastings join us for an engaging keynote conversation where he reflected on his experiences navigating growth and disruption in the public markets across 83 quarters. Other panels explored themes such as the explosive growth in Generative AI, where the fintech vertical goes from here, the latest innovations in social media, and insights into how companies can navigate elongated downturns. 

We had a blast hosting all of our attendees in Montecito this year and we look forwarding to planning another inspiring EMW in 2024.
